Ratings concept

Intro:

The Soundslates platform offers ratings possibilities to users for various cases in which users interact with each other, this document presents an overview of the ratings concept.


1 Main User ratings V1

1.1 System
Every user has 5 different ratings criteria: 1 overall and 4 detailed ratings

The places where users can be rated are the following:

The rating action is available at the closing project step for the admin.
Once the project is closed, members have the possibility to rate each other.

2. Extensions for V2.0
The platform has been re-shaped, which implies changes in the rating concept, below are the detailed changes.

2.1 Removal of price criteria:
The criteria "price/quality ratio" needs to be removed from the rating system

2.2 Soundlibrary ratings:
The sound library available in the client app will now come into the rating system.
When a file is shared, and other users rate this file, the rating should be saved as user rating but also be incorporated into the ratings of the files creator.

New concepts:

Public file rating:
The average of all ratings for a file, it is displayed by default if there is not personal rating (by user)

User personal rating:
The note given by a single user to a file, this rating overtakes the public rating permanently 

Creator rating:
The user rating of the file creator, this appears on the user's profile
It is the average of all public file ratings owned by a user, is going into the "Sound quality" rating

2.3 Open Source Projects ratings: (OSPR)
When user pull an OSP, they can rate this project which is also incorporated into the creator's ratings.

Concepts are the same as for the Sound library:

The interactions between the public, user and creator ratings are the same as for the Sound library.

The rating action can be done in the client app, on the browse tab, where a rating component has been implemented on OSP's info panel.
