The first time that slideshow images are loaded on the homepage, they are not appearing. Only after restarting the app the images are displayed correctly.
Test:
empty the image cache
restart the app
slideshow images should be black
close and restart the app
slideshow image should appear correctly

Done. btw, some images are too large, and I guess the server side should process them to avoid the delay. (I thought that this was done)
